The area at the Chahko Mika Mall looks more like a construction zone than a parking lot as work crews work to improve the drainage at the waterfront location.

Selkirk Paving Limited has been contracted to improve the drainage with new catch basins and pave the more than 4,000 square meters of the parking lot.

Traffic has been diverted around the affected areas by flag people.

SPL crews expect the paving to be completed by May 16.
