NPD ask for public assistance in finding person responsible for smashing front glass doors of local businesses

Nelson Police is asking for public assistance in solving vandalism to local stores near Front and Hall Street early Saturday (March 8) morning.

A citizen’s call came into police dispatch at 2:24 a.m. of glass doors being damaged. When police arrived they found front glass doors of two businesses smashed.

NPD would like anyone with information to contact the department or Crime Stoppers. 

The investigation is ongoing.

Intoxicated woman goes on door knocking spree

Nelson Police received a call Friday (March 7) at 7:30 p.m. of a woman in Rosemont screaming and knocking randomly on doors of area residents.

When first approached by officers the female ran away and continued knocking on doors for no apparent reason.

When police approached a second time, the female assaulted one of the members as she was being arrested for causing a disturbance and being intoxicated in a public place. 

Charges are pending.

Two men saved by passing boater
 
Sunday (March 9) at 5:50 p.m., NPD dispatch received a call of a capsized boat near the Big Orange Bridge in Nelson.

Dispatch was advised of two men in the water next to their capsized boat.

NPD report a happy ending to this accident, as a passing boater was able to remove the two men from the water.

The quick action by the passing boater allowed both men to escape any medical treatment.
