L.V. Rogers students Keegan Schuh and Galen Boulanger spearheaded a drive to raise money for Typhoon Haiyan survivours at a recent fundraising dinner.

The event was more than a success as the evening raised more than $5800 for relief efforts.

The group witnessed an additional 100 people show up looking to purchases tickets.

Each $250 raised will go towards purchase one washroom for the tiny village of Ocam Ocam on the island of Busuanga through a program organized by Ruth and Ed Weibe from Nakusp through the Arrow Lakes Alliance Church.

Last spring, the Philippines was hit by the devastating Typhoon Haiyan which left hundreds dead and thousands homeless.
