Nelson Choral Society with Cottonwood Singers and special guests performs a selection of choral music that explores themes of light and illumination. Light as metaphor, as a journey from darkness to radiance, “light, warm and heavy as pure gold.” Guest soloist is Noemi Kiss.

The event is set for Saturday (December 14) 7:30 p.m. and Sunday (December 15) at 2 p.m. at the Capitol Theatre.

Also on the program is Cottonwood Singers performing largely sacred works by contemporary composers including American Morten Lauridsen’s O Nata Lux, Canadian Larry Nickel’s Kyrie Eleison and Latvian Rihards Dubra’s Oculus Non Vidit.

And a special treat – Bach’s Cantata 82A with performers Noemi Kiss (soprano), Ruth Langevin (flute), Wendy Herbison and Vic Neufeld (violins), Martine Denbok (viola) and Jeff Faragher (basso continuo).

Tickets $15 for adults, $10 for seniors and students.
