IH announces more closures to Victorian Community Health Centre Emergency Department

Interior Health has announced the latest round of closures of the Victorian Community Health Centre Emergency Department due to limited physician/staffing availability.

Due to limited physician availability the Victorian Community Health Centre Emergency Department will be closed:

  • 8 a.m. Tuesday (Nov. 12) to 9 a.m. Wednesday (Nov. 13)

Outside these hours, the emergency department will be open.

Kaslo residents should not that in case of an emergency call 9-1-1.

Residents with concerns should visit the emergency department at Kootenay Lake Hospital in Nelson and for non-urgent needs, visit a walk-in clinic in Nelson.

People with prescriptions should visit the local pharmacy/drug store, and ensure they are up to date.

The HealthLink BC line at 8-1-1 (24 hour service) is also available to those people unsure about your need to go to the emergency department.

The ongoing closures are due to limited physician/staffing availability the Victorian Community Health Centre Emergency Department.

Tuesday, during Kaslo Village Council, IHA representative, Andrew Neuner, VP of Community Integration, will be attending to give a presenation.

The meeting starts at 7 p.m.
