LVR Bombers dominate West Kootenay Cross Country running championships

Micah May and Maddy Murphy made is a clean sweep of the senior division for L.V. Rogers at the West Kootenay Cross Country running championships Wednesday.

May won the title by a few seconds over teammate Walker Dempster.

Owen Thurston of LVR took third.

May finished the course in a time of 25 minutes, 32.2 seconds.

LVR runners swepted the first six spots in the race.

Remi Drolet of Rossland finished seventh.

In the Senior Girls race, Murphy won the title in a time of 19:40.0, edging Bomber teammate Maya Ida at the tape.

Sarah Wade of LVR took third in a time of 20:11.5.

Bomber runners took the top five spots with Micheala McLean finishing sixth.

In the Junior Girls race, Gibson Charolette of Rossland took home the top prize in a time of 11:24.6.

Kolibri Drobish of New Denver was second with Mackenzie Vayro of Salmo third.

Owen Box of Trafalgar won the Junior Boys race ahead of Matty Erickson and Bodhi Ellis Kusy of Rossland.

Runners now prepare for the East/West Kootenay Championships Wednesday (October 23) in Creston.
