Try on your Halloween costume early this year and come down to Touchstones Nelson for an afternoon of fun.

This year our Family Fair will happen just a few days before Halloween and the Mexican holiday of Dia de los Muertos, making it a great opportunity to celebrate and get crafty.

There are a lot of activities in store for visitors this year: Storytelling in the mini theatre, dress up photo booth with hats from the Capitol Theatre Costumes, craft activities, live banjo tunes, face painting, harvest guessing game with prizes, a costume parade at 2 p.m. and free cookies and hot apple cider.

The stories and crafts have been chosen with small children in mind, and will be aimed more at having fun than getting scared.

However, all ages are welcome to this community event.

Admission is by donation and half of the proceeds will go to Kalein Hospice Centre. Touchstones is grateful for donations from Ellison’s, Save-on-Foods and Root & Vine Acres.
