Shambhala Music Festival garners four major awards

The International Festivals & Events Association (IFEA) awarded Corrine Zawaduk, Executive Producer at Shambhala Music Festival, as a graduate from the Certified Festival and Event Executive program (CFEE).

IFEA also paid tribute to the Shambhala Music Festival in Nelson on September 16 during the IFEA/Haas & Wilkerson Pinnacle Awards Ceremony held at the IFEA’s 58th Annual Convention & Expo in Pittsburgh, PA.

The Shambhala Music Festival was presented with four awards in the prestigious IFEA/Haas & Wilkerson Pinnacle Awards competition.

Awards were won in the following categories:

  • BRONZE   –     Best Misc. Media – On the Road to Shambhala promo video edited by Ricardo Hubbbs w/ music by Clyphs
  • SILVER     –    Best Event Photograph – The Village Stage by Novus Photography
  • GOLD    –    Best Misc. Decor – The Night Owl by Copper Chris, Wendy Watkin, Cassia Barrett + the Farm Dec team
  • GOLD    –    Best Hat – Shambhala 2013 hat by Grassroots California

Sponsored by industry leader Haas & Wilkerson Insurance, the professional competition draws entries from among the world’s top festivals and events. 

Winning entries came from organizations throughout Canada and the USA.

International contenders included such diverse event organizations as the Seoul Lantern Festival, Seoul, South Korea; World Gourmet Summit, Singapore; Grolsch Artboom Festival, Krakow, Poland; Stichting Rotterdam Festivals, The Netherlands; Festival Lent, Maribor, Slovenia and the Sentosa Leisure Management, Sentosa, Singapore.  

Awards were handed out in 68 different categories in total including Best TV Promotion; Social Media Site; Commemorative Poster; Overall Sponsorship Program; Green Program; Educational Program, Children’s Programming; Media Relations Campaign; Overall Merchandising Program; Festival & Event Management Degree Programs to the highest award given by the IFEA in recognition of those Festivals and events who have a balance of all the elements necessary to ensure a successful event – the Grand Pinnacle.
