City public works and Nelson Hydro were out in full force Sunday night and well into Monday cleaning up after a thunderstorm rocked the Uphill district of the Heritage City.

The thunderstorm, pushing through the region late Sunday night, pushed over huge trees on to Robson, Hart and Fall streets, some ending up onto residents houses.

Crews worked were called out during the early hours of Monday, working well into the day cleaning up trees — the most visible closing Robson Street at Ward as a large tree dropped across the street.

Branches were seen on street throughout the city.

Environment Canada is calling for  a mix of sun and cloud Monday with 30 percent chance of showers later this afternoon.

There is another risk of thunderstorms this afternoon.

Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday is a mix of sun and cloud before rain takes over the forecast for the Labour Day weekend in time for the return to school Tuesday.
