Nelson Police report motorcycle driver dies in early morning crash

Nelson Police Department report the rider of a motorcycle that crashed near the Kootenay Lake Hospital Tuesday morning has died from injuries.
The accident happened in the area near the hospital around 2 a.m. Tuesday.
NPD officers responded to the call and immediately located the rider at the accident scene.
Police locked down the scene until emergency services arrived and medical attention was provided by BC Ambulance and Nelson Fire Department.
The rider was transported to Kootenay Lake Hospital by EHS where he succumbed to his injuries.
At this time the name of the rider is being withheld pending notification of family.
Nelson Police, along with the assistance of the Nelson RCMP Integrated Collision Analyst, continue to investigate the cause of the motor vehicle accident.
