Former MLA dies in float plane accident

A former Powell River-Sunshine Coast MLA has died in a float plane crash Tuesday.
Harold James Long 72, was the pilot and sole occupant of a DHC-2 Beaver float plane that was found overturned in Bute Inlet on the west side of Stuart Island late Tuesday afternoon.
Long’s body was recovered later in the day.
The B.C. Coroners Service, Transportation Safety Board and RCMP continue to investigate Long’s death.
