Vandals destroy gate near Blewett Ski Hill property

The Regional District of Central Kootenay is reporting vandals destroyed a gate accessing the Blewett Ski Hill property last week.
RDCK officials said (Tuesday) April 9, officials were notified that one or more vandals used a dumpster to destroy the gate which prevents vehicles from accessing the Blewett Ski Hill property.
“I’m sure the community will be disappointed to know that the money we have spent on improving this area has been wasted by these destructive individuals,” said Ramona Faust, Director of Electoral Area E.
“We have plans to improve this area and this is a real setback.”
The RDCK and the Nelson Cycling Club currently hold a licence of occupation with the Province of BC for this area and are working with Recreation Sites and Trails BC to make improvements to the trails and infrastructure on this land.
