A joyride on a motorcycle landed a North Vancouver man in hot water Tuesday afternoon on the Sea to Sky highway.

Squamish RCMP clocked the 24-year-old going over 140 kilometres an hour.

When the man failed to stop Squamish RCMP listed the help from West Vancouver police and an RCMP traffic chopper.

Police followed the rider when he left the highway to head into Horseshoe Bay.

The motorcyclist was hit with a $1,100 fine, prohibited from driving for 15 days and his bike impounded for a week.
