Gabriola RCMP confirm a vehicle that went off the Gabriola Ferry at 3:25 a.m. Wednesday is submerged in approximately 120 feet of water.

The RCMP West Coast Marine have located the vehicle approximately 200 feet from the stern of the Ferry.

Search and Rescue patrolled the shores in the area to see if anyone could be located.

At this time the driver of the vehicle remains unaccounted for. Video camera footage of the ferry terminal area was reviewed by investigators and a vehicle can be clearly seen crashing through the barrier of the BC Ferries Descano Bay Terminal and onto the ferry and then off into the water.
