Fantastic conclusion to an amazing season for Whitewater Nancy Greene racers
The Whitewater Racers can’t wait until next season after culminating a year on snow with a fantastic final race in early March in the Rio Tinto Alcan Nancy Greene series at Phoenix Mountain near Grand Forks.
Competing in a field of more than 120 racers between the ages of six to 11 years of age, Whitewater Whitewater made a lot of stops on the medal podium after winning two gold team, one silver and three team bronze.
In the U12 boy division, Yael Oosthuizen won a silver and a gold.
In the U10 girl division, Aliza Jones brought home two silver medals and Sierra Pardoe stood on the podium to receive a bronze medal.
“The Whitewater Ski Team has been identified by BC Alpine as one of the most successful ski race clubs in the province,” said Whitewater coach David Oosthuizen.
“”Whitewater also remains the hill of choice for competitors and their families,” Oosthuizen added.
Oosthuizen was making reference to when Whitewater hosted the Nancy Greene race March 3, more than 180 racers ascended the mountain making it the largest race of the season.
