It’s a performance that should not be missed — the 2013 show of the Corazón Nelson Choir.

The unique performance, set for April 7 at Touchstones Nelson, has the celebrated 63-member youth choir (age range 13 to 21) encircle the interior of Gallery A and perform four pieces while stand or wander in the middle as the singers perform all around.

Audiences will be literally surrounded by song.

“Corazón’s director, Allison Girvan, has chosen colourful, dramatic music to highlight the extraordinary acoustics of the gallery,” said choir spokesperson.

“The singers will perform the same 20-minute show five times, for a new audience each time.”

Touchstones’ current exhibit, I Love You, In Theory, the text-based paintings of the Winlaw/New York artist Graham Gilmore, will provide a provocative backdrop for the performance.

The performances in 2012 sold out early and received ecstatic reviews from audience members.

The five shows on (Sunday) April 7 go at 2:30 p.m., 3 p.m, 3:30 p.m., 4 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.

Admission is $10 and tickets are available in person only at Touchstones, 502 Vernon Street in Nelson.

There are no phone reservations or online sales.
through Saturday.
