A suspicious package raised havoc for BC Ferries sailings to and from the Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island Sunday afternoon, cancelling some sailings.

It was later revealed the package was no threat by police.

The package was discovered around 2:40 p.m. on the vessel docked at the Tsawwassen terminal.

The ferry was quickly evacuated.

Two sailings were affected by the security incident.

The RCMP bomb squad investigated package but revealed it was not of an explosive nature.
