Idle No More Rally planned for Nelson Wednesday

There is an Idle No More Rally is scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday (January 16) in the courtyard in front of Nelson City Hall.

Idle No More Rallies have sprung up across Canada as a show of solidarity with First Nations calling on Prime Minister Stephen Harper to repeal portions of Bill C-45.

Idle No More supporters vow to continue to stage such peaceful public events until Harper and Gov. Gen David Johnston agree to meet with grassroots groups, and their concerns about the legislative changes are addressed.

On New Year’s Day, approximately 100 protesters braved cooler temperatures New Year’s Day to attend the Idle No More Rally in front of Nelson City Hall.
