Police ask for public assistance in Blewett dog shooting
Nelson RCMP is investigating a shooting that injured a dog in the 3500 block of Blewett Road on (Thursday) November 22, 2012 at approximately 3:30 p.m.
The owner of the dog heard a gunshot and a short time later their dog came running home from the power line direction with a gunshot wound to it’s hind leg.
After having the dog tended to by a local veterinarian it was determined the dog was shot by a .22 caliber firearm.
To date there have been no further leads or information pertaining to this incident.
Police are concerned that some one may have been shooting at the dog for no reason and is asking the public’s assistance for any information regarding this incident.

Three charged with impaired driving
Nelson Police Department and the Integrated Road Safety Unit was out in full force with another round of roadside checkstops, checking more than 450 vechicles at various locations.
Three drivers were issued impaired by drug charges while three other motorists received 24-hour roadside suspension.
Police also made an arrest for drug possession along with three violation tickets and three warnings.
