Kelowna, Whistler in running to host Ironman Canada

Three B.C. cities are battling against Huntsville, Ont. for the right to host Canadian edition of the Ironman triathlon, according to the World Triathlon Corporation.
Kelowna and Whistler have made it into the final shortlist along with the Ontario city to host the Canadian edition of the Ironman triathlon.
The news was not as good for Vernon, Kamloops, Victoria and Calgary which did not make the final list.
Penticton hosted the world-famous event for the past 30 years, but let it go to start hosting a Challenge Triathlon instead.
The Okanagan city hosted its final Ironman in August.
