Kootenay Co-op Radio is renting out 70 parking spaces at the old Extra Foods lot at $35 per month. They’ve already rented half of them.

It’s an example of cooperation between co-ops in the International Year of Cooperatives. The Kootenay Co-op food store now owns the lot and won’t be needing it for a while so they’ve loaned it to the radio station.

In this 3.5 minute video, Jocelyn Carver and Deirdrie Lang of the Kootenay Co-op and Jay Hannley of Kootenay Co-op Radio cheerfully tell us how this started, how it will work, and why they think it’s a great idea.
