Fort Mcleod RCMP are still actively coordinating the investigation into an overdue couple traveling from Fort Mcleod, Alta., to Fernie.

Jacob and Anja Oosterwyjk departed Fort Mcleod on (Saturday) April 14th for a day trip to Fernie BC, and have not been heard from since.

The couple was driving a 1997 Dark Green Honda CRV with Alberta licence plate BCC7195.

Jacob is approximately 6’0″ tall and of medium build.  He wears glasses, is bald with a close shaved beard, and was wearing blue jeans with a brown leather jacket and dark brown baseball cap with an unknown logo on it.

Anja is approximately 5’7″ tall and of medium build. She also wears glasses, has short dark brown hair, and was wearing either blue jeans or a blue jean skirt with a dark blue 3/4 length winter coat.

Although no foul play is suspected in this matter, police and the family of Anja and Jacob Oossterwyjk are anxious to locate the couple and ensure that they are safe.

It is very unusual for the couple not to be in regular contact with their family, and the concern is that they may be stranded in a remote area somewhere between Fort Mcleod and Fernie.

If anyone has any information pertaining to the Oosterwyjks is asked to call the Fort Mcleod RCMP at 403-553-7200 or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
