Universal Music’s Hey Ocean surfs into Nelson
With three Vancouverites at its core (Ashleigh Ball, David Beckingham, & David Vertesi), Hey Ocean is to many the quintessential West Coast band — and they are playing Nov. 22 at The Royal.
On Nov. 1, after a three year hiatus, Hey Ocean are set to release their anticipated digital EP titled, Big Blue Wave. The EP, which includes the band’s forthcoming radio single of the same name, features four brand new recordings.
After being independent for over half a decade, the release of Big Blue Wave will be Hey Ocean’s first since signing with Universal Music Canada.
Historically, the band has been hands-on every step of the way, releasing through their own label, Pop Machine and touring tirelessly from coast to coast.
Their captivating and energetic live show has not only earned them the loyalty of an ever-expanding fan base, but also the reputation for being one of Canada’s best young bands.
Produced by the band’s bassist, David Vertesi, Big Blue Wave is on the horizon and Hey Ocean are ready to hit the road once more with an exciting new line-up and a whole new array of material: bigger and better than ever.
