Candidates go public in first of forums Tuesday evening
If you’ve ever dreamed of a date with a politician, or a budding politician, Tuesday is your chance.
The Nelson premiere of Speed Candi-dating will take place Tuesday night at Oso Negro (7-9 p.m.) as voters have three minutes with each of the candidates that show up.
People are asked to sign up in advance and are able to get personal and one-on-one with the issues and the candidates as they see them.
And Oso is offering food and beverages by donation, with all proceeds to Nelson CARES.

Local government voter’s guides now online
The Province is encouraging eligible voters in the West Kootenay to participate in the local government election process and to vote in their communities on Saturday, Nov. 19.
To support voters, the Voter’s Guide to Local Elections in British Columbia is now available online, and can be downloaded from the Ministry of Community, Sport and Cultural Development’s local government website. The guide answers basic questions eligible voters might have as they prepare to vote.
The voter’s guide is just one of many online resources voters can access on the Ministry of Community, Sport and Cultural Development’s local government website.
Voters can find guides on subjects such as campaign financing and how to support a local candidate. The site also provides important election calendar deadlines, and answers to the most commonly asked questions about local government elections.
