New Balfour water treatment plant predicates boil water advisory

The Regional District of Central Kootenay is working through the pilot period of a new treatment plant in an effort to remove a boil water notice.
However, residents of Balfour are reminded that the area remains on a boil water notice until that happens.
All water used for human consumption must be brought to a rapid boil and continue to boil for at least one minute.
All public buildings and commercial establishments will require bottled or otherwise acceptably treated water.
This boil water notice will remain in effect until further notice.
