Team make push for bragging rights as Nelson City Soccer season winds down with playoff action

Time is running out on Nelson City Soccer League teams.

The local adult roundball association is fully engulfed in post-season play.

The first league out of the playoff gates in Nelson City Soccer is the Jackson’s Hole Men’s Masters League.


Two teams advanced down the playoff trail as Real Nelson got past Red Dog 4-3 and Ted Allen’s clubbed Club Inter 5-2 during action Sunday at the Lakeside Pitch.

Real Nelson and Ted Allen’s now advance to the semi final round Sunday against Jackson’s Hole and Bia Boro, respectively.

Game time is 3:45 p.m. at the Lakeside Pitch.

The winner’s meet in the final the following week.

Saturday at Lakeside, four teams battle it out for the top prize in the Leo’s Men’s Open League.

Regular season champ Innkeepers meet The Action in one semi final while Kootenay Co-op battle the LVR Bombers in the other contest.

Game time is 3:45 p.m.

In the Finley’s Ladies Rec League, Dirty Dozen square off against defending champion Finley’s Jiggers in one semi final while Lily Whites play Red Dog in the other match. Game are set for Sunday at 2:45 p.m. at Lakeside.

Winners advance to the final.
