Municipal election

Election season is upon us, and the West Kootenay EcoSociety urges qualified and dedicated people to consider running for local elected office.

“We need strong environmental voices to be in leadership positions in our cities, towns, villages, and regional district,” said a Society press release. “It’s not too late to register, and it is a great way to make a difference.”

Kootenay Co-op

There is also an election for directors at the Kootenay Coop Store.

The Co-op is a regional institution and an important partner for EcoSociety in advocating for regional food security and environmental sustainability.

Voting is underway now at the store, or you can meet the candidates on Sept 14 from 7 to 8pm at Touchstones.

The last opportunity to vote will be at the AGM on Friday Sept 23 at Touchstones from 7 to 9:30 p.m. EcoSociety members Bonnie Baker, Abra Brynne, and Michelle Laurie are candidates.
