A rare Tuesday meeting of City council has the municipal governing body preparing to pass final judgment on no less than five bylaws.

The 7 p.m. meeting will highlight the adoption of bylaws for noise control, bylaw notice enforcement, a building bylaw, traffic amendment and a fees and charges amendment.

Although the City already had a noise control bylaw, it dated back to 1983 and was in need of updating. Four updates, in fact.

A motor vehicle noise and penalties section has been added, as well as a definition of property, the downtown core and a musical instrument section added.

Council will also be giving first and second readings — and scheduling a public hearing — on the Official Community Plan amendment to St. Saviours Hall.

The hall at 501 Carbonate Street is slated to accommodate a veterinary clinic, theatre, office, assembly use and residential use.

First and second reading will also be given to a rezoning application of a 15 multi-residential unit development — in a phased strata plan — for 2102 Creek St. The area is currently zoned for single and two family residences.
