Man turns festival ejection into motive for crime
A man who was kicked out of Shambhala Music Festival ran into problems of another sort on Friday.
Less than 25 minutes after he had been arrested at the music festival and released by RCMP in Nelson, the 21-year-old Calgary resident was up to more mischief.
Nelson police were called to Lakeside Park to investigate the theft of a vehicle. The owner had come back from boating to find the vehicle missing, with a witness saying they had seen it leaving the parking area at a high rate of speed.
A short time later it was found abandoned in a ditch on Svoboda Road.
After a brief search police located and arrested the alleged car thief at a nearby residence, where he had allegedly broken into the home to steal clothing and jewelry.
