City Soccer Leagues return to the pitch after summer hiatus

Now that summer is, well, almost over, Nelson City Soccer is gearing up for fall season on the pitch.

Up first is the Jackson’s Hole Men’s Masters League, which kicks off the fall campaign Thursday at the Lakeside Pitch.

There are three games on tap.

First half champion Jackson’s Hole takes to the pitch against Ted Allen’s while runner up Bia Boro battles Real Nelson.

Jackson’s nipped Bia Boro by two points for the first-half crown.

In the final game Red Dog meets Club Inter.

The Leo’s Men’s Open League begins Tuesday, September 6 with first half winner Nelson Innkeepers play West Kootenay United and The Action up against Kootenay Co-op.

The Innkeepers won the title by a wide margin over West Kootenay United and The Action.

The final league in Nelson City Soccer, Finley’s Ladies Rec, begins play Friday, September 9 with Red Dog meeting Selkirk Eyecare.

The rest of the teams get going Monday, September 11 with Lily Whites tackling first-half winner Dirty Dozen and Selkirk Eyecare playing defending champion Finley’s Jiggers.

Dirty Dozen lost but one game during the first half.
