Nelson Youth Soccer teams had mixed results as the B.C. Provincial B Soccer Championships opened on three fronts Thursday.

The U18 Selects edged Bulkley Valley 2-1 as the Heritage City squad opened defence of its provincial title in Penticton.

Meanwhile the U15 Boys edged Prince George by the same 2-1 score Thursday in 100 Mile House.

The results were not as good for a pair of girl’s teams from Nelson.
The U17 Selects lost to Surrey United Force while Gordon Head of Victoria bounced the U15 squad 4-0.

The U14 Boys lost 4-1 to Vancouver Spuraways.

The teams return to the pitch Friday with the final game of round robin action Saturday.

Depending on where teams place in the divisional standings determine playoff games Sunday.

The tournaments are being held in Powell River, 100 Mile House and Penticton.

No scores were available from the U13 tournament in Powell River.
