The zero block of Baker Street has come under attack.

The city’s main street below the Highway intersection along Railway Street and the 100 block of Silica Street to Cottonwood Falls is now under the scrutiny of the City’s Public Works department.

Work on sidewalk and pathway improvements began on Monday and will continue through until Oct. 31, 2011.

The project will include sidewalk construction, paving and the creation of amenity areas. Traffic disruption is expected to be minimal.
