If you have ever been interested in the sky, then this is your night.

On Saturday evening (indoor/outdoor event) at Taghum Community Hall — 5915 Taghum Hall Road by the old Taghum Bridge — people can learn the basics of telescope building with Marilyn Roberts.

They’ll also get to see a demonstration of how to grind a mirror.

In addition, there will be nocturnal viewing of the stars (weather permitting) with Wayne Holmes.

The event starts at 8 pm indoors by looking at telescopes, learning how to make one and how to grind a mirror.

Bring your binoculars, notepad, red cellophane to put over your flashlight, grab your friends and neighbours, lawn chair and wear warm clothes, something hot to drink.

Sponsored by the Taghum Hall Society and KAST (Kootenay Association of Science and Technology).
