Grounded grinds out some cash for Kootenay Kids
Grounded Coffee Shop in Nelson is doing its best to help Heritage City kids.
Last month the Vernon Street establishment raised $2,400 for the Kootenay Kids Society, Life after Birth program.
The money was raised from Grounded sales from that day along with a very successful art sale.
“Kids from Gordon Sargent school kindly donated specialty made art that was sold for $30 each,” Grounded owner/operator, Sasha Kitch told The Nelson Daily.
“This was our third year doing this fundraiser and we hope to continue working with Kootenay Kids.”
The money is used for nutritional programs and food vouchers.
“School funding continues to be an easy cut for government leaving more and more families in need of help in our community,” Kitch added.
