During the week of June 6-10, the Duhamel and Woodland Heights water systems will undergo their annual disinfection procedure.

At this time, the reservoirs and distribution systems will be flushed with chlorinated water. The procedure will take approximately nine hours and may occur at any point during the week.

During the procedure, users may notice pressure fluctuations and a slight chlorine odour in the water.

A small amount of chlorine will be used (0.8 – 1.5 mg/L) and the water will remain safe to drink throughout the procedure.

If you do not wish to use chlorinated water, the RDCK recommends that you store adequate drinking water to last throughout the disinfection process.
