Creston's Baker and Young take low gross title at Tournament of Roses

Cheri Baker and Lynn Young carded a 2-under-par 70 to capture the top prize at the Tournament of Roses Women’s Golf Team event held recently at the Granite Pointe course.
The Baker/Young combo edged the Balfour/Granite duo of Roma Crispin and Mary Ann Gaschnitz.
In the running for the low net title, Marlene Pozin and Paula Seibel won the crown with a score of 62.
Second behind Pozin and Seibel was Sherry McIvor and Tammy Avis.
Other results had Lynne Foster and Barb Renwick first low gross in the second flight; first low net Ruth O’Bryan and Kay Tencza; second low gross, Fran Crawford and Becky Allen and second low net, Lois Cutler and Marg Hopkins.
Third Flight winners included Sherry Hartridge and Hilda Jarratt first low gross, Maureen Grainger and Lori Lewis second low gross and Mary Gris and Colleen Maglio second low net.
Gwen Acres and Audrey Arcuri each had KP honours.
A total of 46 players entered the annual tourney at Granite Pointe.
