Premier Christy Clark and Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick have placed a friendly wager on the outcome of the Stanley Cup final matchup between the Vancouver Canucks and Boston Bruins.

If the Vancouver Canucks win, Governor Patrick has pledged to wear a Canucks jersey and send a supply of Legal Sea Foods clam chowder.

If the Bruins win, Premier Clark will wear a Bruins jersey and send Boston a selection of Nanaimo bars and B.C. smoked salmon. In both cases, the food will be donated to charity.

“People across B.C. and across Canada are proud of their team and they are cheering on the Vancouver Canucks as we head into the Stanley Cup finals. They know this is going to be the year the Canucks make history and bring home the Stanley Cup,” said Premier Clark.

“I’m looking forward to accepting on behalf of British Columbians some of finest clam chowder Boston has to offer after the Canucks clinch the series.”
