Due to spring run off adversely affecting the Quartz Creek water intake, a water conservation notice is in effect for the Ymir water system.

The water supply is reduced, therefore all water system users should conserve water.

As a result, the regional district has asked that water should be used for essential domestic purposes only. People should refrain from sprinkling lawns, washing cars and from excessive water use at this time.

The RDCK will be repairing the Ymir water intake after freshet and return the water system to normal operation soon after.

The water conservation notice will remain in effect until further notice.
