Notice of water outage for Balfour water users

Work will be performed on the Balfour water system this Tuesday and Wednesday, meaning the water will be turned off from 7 a.m. on Tuesday, May 24 to approximately 10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 25.
The regional district is asking people to store adequate volumes of water for drinking and washing (fill a cleaned bathtub for wash water; and pots, water jugs or coolers for kitchen water) throughout the specified time period (27 hours).
People are asked to refrain from turning on water taps during the outage, as high amounts of chlorine will be used to disinfect the system.
Following the outage, Balfourites may notice a residual chlorine odour in the water. If this happens, run water taps for a few minutes to flush the household plumbing.
