With their backs against the wall the Binghamton Senators found a way to win.

The Sens, a team that features Nelson Minor Hockey grad Geoff Kinrade on defence, ran the table on the Manchester Monarchs after getting down 3-1 in the series to advance to the next round of the AHL Calder Cup playoffs.

Ryan Potulny scored 3:07 into overtime as Binghamton completed a historic series victory over the Monarchs, advancing to the division finals with a 6-5 decision Saturday in Game 7 at the Verizon Wireless Arena.

Binghamton won the final three games in overtime.

The Senators became just the second team in AHL history to win four OT games in one series, the 16th club to successfully come back from a 3-1 series deficit, and the sixth to win Games 6 and 7 of a series on the road.

Kinrade did his part to the historic series by scoring in the second overtime period Friday to power the Sens to a 2-1 win, finishing the game with a goal at 10:01.

Kinrade, in his second season with the NHL Ottawa farm team, finished the series with a goal and three assists for four points.

Binghamton will face Portland Pirates in the Atlantic Division finals beginning Wednesday night.
