If your closet contains shoes that your family never wears, there is a fantastic community project that helps the needy in Canada as well as in 127 different countries throughout the world. It is called Souls 4 Souls.

Rotary Clubs in the Okanagan and the Kootenays are working together with all members of our communities to collect new, almost new or gently used shoes and put them on the feet of millions of children and adults that have nothing.

This year’s goal is 100,000 pairs, collected by the April 30 deadline.

If you would like to donate shoes, they should be fastened together in pairs with elastic bands and then dropped off at one of the participating stores before the end of April.

The dropoff places in Nelson are:

Mark’s Work Wearhouse

Save On foods

Streetclothes Named Desire

Gaia Rising

Snowpack

Hume Hotel lobby

Valhalla Pure

Cindy’s

Shoes For the Soul
