Canucks open Stanley Cup playoffs with a 2-0 win

What is for certain is a lot of Van City hockey fans from Nelson to Fort Nelson are holding their collective breaths Sedin, Louongo and Company are ready to take a major step in the Stanley Cup Playoffs this season.
Vancouver scored the first blow by connecting twice in the first period to knock off the defending Cup champs from Chicago 2-0 in game one of the Stanley Cup Western Conference playoff series Wednesday night at the Rogers Center.
Chris Higgins and Yanick Hansen scored all the goals Vancouver would need and Roberto Luongo stopped all 32 shots for the shutout in goal.
Game two is Friday at 7 p.m. at the Rogers Center.
