Teched out Tuques – Reload

@ Hume Hotel, Saturday, March 12, 5-9:30 .m.

The West Kootenay’s favourite party band will bring the energy back to weary competitors as locals gather to dance, sing, learn and celebrate with the winners of the first 24-hour WebDev Showdown.

Showdown competitors and public alike are invited to throw-down at the après showdown-hoedown with competitors having completed their 24-hour code-down.

Kicking off the night, competitors and judges will Reload as participants show off their digital canvasses and winners are announced. The best and brightest in the local new media scene will be on hand to celebrate their collaboration and see who’s got the design skills to take home the prize.

Appies and beer will keep the networking sessions flowing.

Local tech industry veteran, Bryan Fry of Rossland, currently living the information age dream, will take folks on an insider’s tour of the cloud computing industry. Entitled Black Cloud/Green Cloud, Fry, who works out of Kelowna as a founding member of RackForce, will discuss how “the cloud” will affect your business and the environment.

Closing out the night with their own unique brand of foot stomping folk rock, The Tuques will bring down the house as the first West Kootenay WebDev Showdown concludes.

Pre registration for the event is recommended and available with more information at www.techvillage.com, featuring the new Tech Village Tech Directory.

Sponsored by the Kootenay Association for Science and Technology, Invest Kootenay and Tech Village and Columbia Basin Trust.
