New contract ratified for Kootenay Savings employees

Employees of Kootenay Savings Credit Union have voted 95 per cent in favour of renewal of a collective agreement, calling for a five-year contract with increases each year.
United Steelworkers Local 9705 and 1-405 and Kootenay Savings Credit Union employees will see an average 3.25 per cent increase over five years.
The new contract also includes improvements in some benefits, a retirement allowance, and improved contract language, along with a $500 signing bonus.
