Nelson Food Bank closes temporarily

The Nelson Food Bank is taking a three-week hiatus as donations have not kept up with demand at the Salvation Army.
The Army has elected to shut its doors because of a lack of food items in the bank that has been dwindling since January.
People are asked to bring by donations to the Army office on Vernon Street — of canned goods, vegetables and pasta — until the Food Bank re-opens April 5.
