ICBC invests $65,000 to improve West Kootenay roads

Most West Kootenay residents have seen the geometric improvements in the passing lane along Highway 3A and Highway 6 in Nelson.
These are among the four road improvement projects ICBC invested in the West Kootenays in 2010 to help make roads safer for everyone.
In 2010, ICBC invested approximately $1.8 million in projects in the Southern Interior and $9 million in 280 projects throughout B.C.
Projects underway or completed in 2010 in the West Kootenays:
• Castlegar, Columbia Avenue, five intersections
Signal head upgrades
ICBC contribution: $18,275
• Nelson, Highway 3A and 6 passing lane
Geometric improvements
ICBC contribution: $17,800
• Rossland, Highway 22
Rumble strips installation
ICBC contribution: $7,600
• Yahk, Highway 3 – Curzon Bridge to Ryan Bridge
Signing improvements
ICBC contribution: $20,900
