Cats meet Rockets in Female Midget AAA Final

The Thompson-Okanagan Rockets will host the Kootenay Wildcats this weekend in the Championship series in the Female Midget AAA League.
The winner will advance to the Female Pacific Midget Regional Championship. The Regional Championship will be hosted in Alberta this year.
The Cats, playing in its third straight final, swept the Fraser Valley Phantom 2-0 to advance to the championship series.
Meanwhile, the Rockets were pushed to the limit by the Prince George Cougars, outlasting the northern squad 2-1 in the best-of-three semi-final.
The series begins Friday in Rutland at the West Arena. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
Game two is Saturday at 8:30 p.m., with the third contest, if necessary, played Sunday at 5 p.m.
The Female Midget AAA League was initiated in the 2007-2008 season in response to the membership’s desire to provide an opportunity for elite female hockey players to come together on zone teams to challenge other elite Female Midget teams.
