CBT grant writing workshops — applications for grants now being accepted

To assist those interested in applying for Arts, Culture and Heritage Program grants from Columbia Basin Trust (CBT), Krista Patterson and Natasha Smith of the Columbia Kootenay Cultural Alliance (CKCA) will present workshops on how to apply and what to expect from the application process.

CBT’s arts, culture and heritage grants are managed and administered by the CKCA.

Individuals of all artistic disciplines are invited to attend the workshops, as well as arts, culture and heritage organizations residing in the Columbia Basin.

CBT supports initiatives and projects that highlight Basin culture and heritage, and this year is supporting this granting program with $555,000 for the 2011/12 fiscal year.

Workshops are free. Locations, dates and times as follows:

• Crescent Valley: Wednesday, February 16, 6 – 8 p.m. hosted by the Slocan Valley Arts Council

Location: Crescent Valley Hall, 1385 Hwy 6 (next to the fire hall), Crescent Valley.

• Nakusp: Saturday, February 19, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. hosted by the Arrow Lakes Arts Council

Location: Selkirk College, Nakusp Centre, 311 Broadway Street, Nakusp

• Salmo: Saturday, February 26, 2 – 4 p.m. hosted by the Salmo District Arts Council

Location: Salmo Youth and Community Ctr., Multipurpose Room, 206 7th Street, Salmo
