The 2010 CP Holiday Train Program is officially off and rolling across six provinces in Canada and eight states in the U.S. last week, but it won’t be making a stop in Nelson this year.

After two straight years of holiday train visits, North America’s longest-running food bank fundraiser will be spreading its magic to other Kootenay communities, such as Revelstoke and Golden.

Each Holiday Train has 14 rail cars decorated with hundreds of thousands of festive lights. Included is a modified box car that has been turned into a traveling stage for performers.

Performing the spirit of the season from a specially designed stage on the Canadian Holiday Train is one of Canada’s most versatile bands, The Odds. Joining The Odds in Quebec and Smiths Falls, Ontario is the musical sensation, Brothers Dube.
