There is still some fallout after the credit union strike last summer.

Three lost jobs from the United Steelworkers Local 1-405 (USW) — two at the East Shore branch and one in operations in Nelson — are being contested by the union.

The union is taking the Nelson and District Credit Union to arbitration this week.

After two months on the picket line, USW representatives decided to take the last agreement on the table to the NDCU employees for a vote, and it passed by a slim margin in April

After lacking a collective agreement for more than a year, the NDCU staff walked out in February in protest of several issues, ranging from benefit protection to job security, outsourcing and contract language.
